3.4 KPI, Key Performance Indicators
Activity and progress are not the same. The problem in this chapter is more precise: Everything that moves can be counted, but not everything that can be counted tells us whether the movement is headed in the desired direction.
A larger number is not automatically a better outcome. KPI is therefore about choosing the few signs that can challenge our perception of whether the effort is actually working.
