1.6 Tool: First Principles Thinking
If every hotel owns its rooms, ownership can look like a first principle of accommodation. If every newspaper is printed on paper, the paper can look like a first principle of journalism. If everyone in the industry holds a large inventory, inventory can look like a natural part of the product.
What is fundamental may instead be access to a place to sleep, access to credible information, or access to an item at the moment the customer needs it.
